Growth Continuum- Reflection - Where are you at?

lhpersonalfinancia

I love this growth sequence—it fits finances perfectly:

Start → Struggle → Movement → Achieve → Automate

Which stage sounds like where you’re at? Let’s break it down with a fun twist and some pro tips to keep you moving:

  • START: Just dipping your toes into managing your money? It’s like trying to bake a cake for the first time—you need a recipe (and maybe a little help). Pro Tip: Track every dollar you spend for two weeks. Use an app, spreadsheet, notebook, you’ll be amazed at what you discover just by writing down what you are spending as a first step!

  • STRUGGLE: Feeling stuck—whether it’s fighting debt or wondering why your bank account is giving “ghosted” vibes? You’re not alone! This phase is where tiny victories make a big difference. Pro Tip: Pick one expense to slash or negotiate this week (looking at you, unused subscriptions). You’d be surprised how much one little tweak can boost your confidence.

  • MOVEMENT: You’re making progress! Maybe it’s like jogging uphill—not easy, but you’re moving. This is the time to fine-tune your money map so you don’t accidentally detour to “Oops, I blew my budget” town. Pro Tip: Do a weekly check-in. Ask yourself, “Am I still heading toward my goals, or did I just buy a bunch of things I forgot about on Amazon?”

  • ACHIEVE: You’ve hit a goal—amazing work! Now it’s about keeping that momentum going while giving yourself a meaningful reward. Pro Tip: Celebrate with something meaningful to stay motivated. Write yourself a note about how far you’ve come, treat yourself to your favorite coffee, or take a guilt-free afternoon to relax—whatever reminds you that your progress matters.

  • AUTOMATE: You’re building systems and habits, and your money is practically running itself—like a well-trained dog, but better. Automation is the sweet spot! Pro Tip: Set it and forget it (kind of). Automate saving, habits, communication and your system but check in weekly to make sure your money isn’t wandering off to places you didn’t intend. Automate is making the habits and mindset be part of who you are- your identity.

If one of these stages hit home for you, I’d love to hear!
